What is your personality type? What skills do you have?
There are certain preliminary activities you must take to lay the groundwork to achieve your dreams, set goals, and live your best life. Let’s look at what I believe are the top six:

Can People Change? How and Why Do They? The Importance of Change in Achieving Goals
This week, we will discuss our emotional levels and how they impact goal setting, achieving our dreams, and living our best lives.

Your Complete List of Recommended Resources
What if you could find an extensive list of resources dedicated solely to your success? Well, you can at Afterburner Success Partners, of course! Read this special post to find out how this list is available with a few simple mouse clicks!

What can you learn from Afterburner Success Partners?
I enjoy quotes and sayings as you will come to see over time. A few of the little sayings I’ve incorporated into Afterburner Success Partners are “We take you where you are”, “The world according to Dave”, “I like stories”, and “We are all about choices.”

More Than Dreams and Goals, It’s About Lifestyle
Here’s an interesting little story. As you read it, see if you can relate…

The Importance of Dreams
All of us dream. If you look up the definition of a dream, you will see various iterations of occurrences while you sleep. If you look up the definition of a daydream, you will see a daydream is something that takes us away from the present, a fantasy, a detachment from the current reality, or a hope for the future.

What The Class Is and Is Not
If you choose to buy a low-cost car, you will have certain expectations in your mind of what you will get and, conversely what you will not get. If you purchase a high-end luxury car you might have higher expectations. Likewise, if you fly a budget airline to a sunny destination, you may expect to pay for a drink and to carry your luggage on the plane with you. If you fly first class on a well-known international air carrier, you will expect superb service and lots of amenities. I think you get the idea. So, what I want to do this week is set the stage for what you should expect when you take the course.

Learning Methodology for Adults
The goal at Afterburner Success Partners is to help you learn how to achieve your dreams and live your best life. To be successful, one of the things we (that’s me as the instructor and you as the student) must understand is the process of learning. If we understand this process, then we can employ effective learning strategies so students can better comprehend the material and thus have better outcomes.

How much does it cost?
Over the past 7 weeks, I’ve been laying the groundwork of why Afterburner Success Partners was created, what we offer, why you should participate, and what’s in it for you. Some folks may have dropped out already, some may still be with me, and I hope others have since joined. If you are new, you can access the website at absuccesspartners.com and read all the previous blogs to catch up. These posts are authored to correspond with the sequence of the course but some of what we have been going over up to now is just preliminary to get you interested, to whet your appetite.

What’s in it for me?
I’ve tried to establish how the thought process of “What’s in it for me?” (WIIFM) is important. Unless we are a parent looking out for our children (think about a mother bear with her cubs. She will fight to the death to protect her cubs), most of us consider ourselves first. I’m not talking about us being selfish here, like cutting in line at an event or taking too much food at a party buffet, but I’m talking about the human need to look out for our own best interests.

Why We Take Notes and Write Down Goals
This week we are going to talk about note-taking and writing down your goals, why it is important to you, and the benefit of investing in these seemingly mundane activities.

Course Description
